Diep River is a few minutes from our Bergvliet base and has been part of our regular working area since 1995. It has a genuine mix — older cottages, mid-century family homes and newer infill — and each of them fails in a different way.
It also sits low. That matters. Winter rain, an older drain line and a partially blocked lateral is a combination that puts water where it should not be, and it tends to happen at the worst possible moment.
What we fix most in Diep River
Stormwater and sewer lines that back up in winter, corroded galvanised supply pipes in the older housing, geyser failures, and the piecemeal plumbing that decades of small additions leave behind.
Drain backing up into the house?
Stop using water in the house, keep the area clear, and call 071 012 3456. A blockage backing up indoors jumps our queue.
Services we bring to Diep River
We handle geyser repairs and SANS-compliant replacements, blocked drains, leak detection, bathroom renovations, core drilling, plumbing certificates of compliance, general plumbing and emergency call-outs — one team, one accountable invoice.
Common questions from Diep River homeowners
My drains back up when it rains hard — why?
Diep River sits low, and parts of it drain towards the Keysers River. In heavy Cape winter rain, stormwater can overwhelm older or partially blocked lines, and a drain that copes fine in summer will back up in July. The fix is usually clearing and camera-checking the line before the rains, not during them.
Is it worth replacing old galvanised pipes?
If you are getting weak pressure, discoloured water and repeat pinhole leaks, then yes. Patching a corroding galvanised line just moves the next leak a metre down the pipe. We will show you what is inside the pipe and quote you honestly on re-piping the affected run versus continuing to patch.
Do you work on older cottages and semis?
Constantly. Diep River has a real mix of housing stock and ages, and the older, smaller properties often have plumbing that has been added to piecemeal over decades. We untangle it rather than just patching over it.
Why Diep River calls us
Because we would rather fix the cause than sell you the same call-out every winter. Camera the line, find the fault, mark the exact dig spot, quote the repair. Est. 1995, insured, and guaranteed in writing.
